This good natured, friendly setter should be long and lean, with a deep chest, strong muscular hindquarters and a silky coat. He is of medium height, elegant in appearance and movement.
Colours are mainly white with flecking, known in the breed as 'belton' in black, orange, lemon, liver or tricolour. Those without heave patches are preferred.
